Amsterdam-based oil trader Trafigura faces a class action legal case in London in October in connection with the dumping of toxic waste in Ivory Coast in 2006, reports news agency Reuters on Tuesday.

Trafigura denies the waste carried by its ship Probo Koala caused the illnesses suffered by thousands of people.
Legal firm Martyn Day told Reuters 22,000 people have already registered for the case.
Trafigura has already agreed a $198m compensation package in an out of court settlement with the Ivory Coast authorities.
The oil trader also faces prosecution in Amsterdam, alongside city council officials. Preliminary hearings in this case were held in June.
The trial of 12 local port officials and waste disposal firm executives began in Ivory Coast on Monday.
