Terracotta army draws record crowd

Life-size figures from the Chinese terracotta army on show at the Drents museum in Assen attracted 353,000 visitors over the seven months they were on display, a record for a northern museum.

With 12,000 visitors a week, the museum has now entered the country’s museum top 10, news agency ANP reports.
Meanwhile, some 500,000 people attended this weekend’s Uitmarkt festivities in Amsterdam to celebrate the start of the new cultural season. In total, 2,000 artists performed on 35 different stages around the eastern docks area.
