Australia beat the Netherlands 2-1 in a warm-up match on Saturday ahead of this week’s world cup qualifiers.

The Dutch, ranked fourth in the world, have only lost three times on home turf over the past 10 years, Australian paper The Age reports. Australia is coached by Dutchman Pim Verbeek.
Dutch goal-keeper Maarten Stekelenburg was given a red card in the match against Australia but coach Bert van Marwijk told the media that this will not disqualify Stekelenburg from playing in Wednesday’s qualifier against Macedonia.
