One fifth of bars ignore smoking ban

Cafés and bars around the country are ignoring the smoking ban introduced on July 1 and setting up special funds to collect money to pay the fines, much to the fury of the government.


‘It’s unfair to cafés which are keeping to the law,’ Labour MP Leo Bouwmeester told Wednesday’s AD.
According to the food safety authority VWA, a fifth of cafés are flouting the ban.
