Numico made a last-ditch attempt to prevent the publication of the fact that it had been fined by the financial markets watchdog AFM, Het Financieele Dagblad reports on Friday.

The baby food and dietary products company was fined €96,000 for neglecting to report that it was in takeover talks with the French foods giant Danone.
Numico took out a court injunction on September 3 to try to keep the news quiet. The injunction was rejected and AFM announced the fine five days later, the paper said.
