MPs to push for inquiry on power prices

MPs are to urge the government’s audit office to carry out its own investigation into the cost of transporting electricity.


Economic affairs minister Maria van der Hoeven ruled out a probe this week, saying tariffs have already been reduced by 4.8% for the coming two years.
Consumer and business organisations are angry about the excessive profits they say energy firms are making on transporting power.
