Mayor averts Amsterdam ambulance strike
Intervention by Amsterdam mayor Job Cohen saw off the threat of a strike by the city’s ambulance drivers on Thursday over increased violence and threats against staff.
The issue reportedly came to a head when a driver was told by friends of a 15-year-old stabbing victim that they would kill him if their friend died. Cohen said the threats were ‘an absolute scandal’.
