Love triangle led to plane hijack call

A 31-year-old man arrested in connection with an alleged plot to hijack a Transavia plane last week was released from custody on Friday. However, his girlfriend and another man remain in jail.

It now appears that the phone call about the plot to hijack the plane was made by the third person to be arrested, a man known as Coco, who also had a relationship with the woman Hinda. He wanted to stop the couple going on holiday together, officials now believe.
Lawyer Gerard Spong, who is representing the first man, known as K, said Hinda made other attempts to avoid going on holiday with his client, including trying to disable their car. The threatening phone call was a last resort, Spong said.
During the police raid on K’s house, a gun and ammunition were found and he faces charges for possessing an illegal weapon.
