Labour stalwart Relus ter beek dies

Former Dutch defence minister Relus ter Beek (64) has died of lung cancer in his home in Assen, reports ANP news service on Monday.


Ter Beek has been the queen’s commissioner of the province of Drenthe since 1995. Prior to that he spent many years as a Labour MP and served as defence minister in the third cabinet of Ruud Lubbers.
