Holland opposes EU food bank plan
The Netherlands opposes the EU’s subsidy to food banks for the poor and will not support a new proposal to raise Brussels’ contribution by two-thirds to €500m a year, reports ANP news service.
The EU set up the food banks years ago as a way of getting rid of EU farming surpluses.
