Film festival to honour Rutger Hauer

Dutch actor Rutger Hauer is to be awarded this year’s prestigious Gouden Kalf prize for culture at the opening of the 28th Dutch Film Festival later this month.

The award is for Hauer’s ‘extraordinary artistic contribution in a variety of areas within the film sector and his tireless efforts to share his skills with young film makers,’ says Film Festival chairwoman Jeltje van Nieuwenhoven on the organisation’s website.
