Dutch cricketer Maurits van Nierop (25) was found dead in a street in Cape Town in South Africa on Wednesday, according to press reports. It is believed in died in a freak accident, falling of a wall while walking home after a night out.

The batsman, who played for the local cricket team, made his debut with the Dutch national team against Ireland in 2004 and was on the selection list for the winter 2009 season.
