British man wants murder trial reopened

British national Kevin Sweeney, currently serving 13 years for murdering his wife by setting their home in the southern Dutch province of Brabant on fire in 1995, has asked the appeal court to reopen his case, news agency ANP reports.


Sweeney was jailed in 2001 after being acquitted by a lower court and argues a number of new facts about the case have since come to light.
