Amsterdam hotel shortage to hit tourism
The growth in tourism will be significantly limited in the coming years largely because of a shortage of hotels in Amsterdam, according to a report published on Wednesday by the tourism board NBTC.
The organisation expects 14 million foreign visitors to visit the Netherlands in 2020, a 30% increase on last year’s figure. Spending by tourists is forecast to rise from almost €4bn in 2007 to €8.4bn in 2020.
