Workers benefit from tight jobs market
Employers will have to do their utmost to keep staff as it gets increasingly easy to find a new job, according to a new report on the labour market published in Tuesday’s AD.
Over the past few years, 20% of workers changed employer while only 18% switched functions within the same company. And one in six workers is actively looking for a job with better career prospects, the two-yearly report, by jobs market research group OSA said.
The research also shows that staff are increasingly being allowed to determine their own working hours. But the number of people working on Sunday has not gone up over the past 10 years.
