Utrecht imposes ban on troublemakers

Utrecht is to impose a ban on people causing trouble around the Gagelhof shopping centre, the Volkskrant reports on Wednesday.

The city’s mayor Aleid Wolfsen has decided to introduce the measure after talks with the police and public prosecution department.
Rotterdam already bans troublemakers – particularly drug addicts – from certain parts of the city.
The Utrecht shopping centre, which was revamped in 2004 after years of problems, faces ‘serious and structural’ problems with maintaining public order, the Volkskrant said.
