‘UPS ready to make €10bn bid for TNT’
US parcel delivery group UPS is planning to make a €10bn offer for Dutch postal group TNT, UK newspaper The Sunday Telegraph reported at the weekend.
The paper, which did not quote sources, said UPS has made an informal approach to TNT and that the two companies are in ‘early-stage talks’ on a tie-up.
Last week the Financieele Dagblad reported that CVC Capital and FedEx want to make a takeover bid for the company and traders were speculating a bid was imminent.
The Telegraph said FedEx is ‘understood’ to be interested in TNT’s parcel division but is ‘less keen’ on its postal operations.
