Two arrested after plane ‘hijack plot’ (update)

Two people are still in custody in connection with an alleged plot to hijack a Transavia plane heading for Turkey on Tuesday.

The plane was forced to wait on the runway at Rotterdam airport for five hours after a threatening phone call.
The call, made to the national emergency number 112, said that the plane was at risk of being hijacked, a threat which was taken ‘very seriously’, the public prosecution department said. No explosives were found on the plane.
Police on Wednesday searched the home of a 31-year-old man and 28-year-old woman from Dordrecht.
