Temp agencies book 3% fall in turnover
Turnover in the temporary employment sector fell by 3% and the number of hours worked by 7% in the four weeks to July 13 compared to the year earlier period, branch organisation ABU said on Tuesday.
This is the second consecutive period that turnover has dropped while the number of hours worked has been decreasing since October last year, said the ABU.
The medical sector, which booked the biggest rise last year, is the hardest hit sector with a 5% lower turnover and 9% fall in worked hours.
Temp employment agencies are an important indicator for the economic climate.
