Schiphol earnings fall 8%

Schiphol airport saw its earnings fall 8.3% in the first six months of this year, despite a rise in passenger numbers.

Net profit fell from €96m to €88m, due to the sale of property and the cost of carrying out government-ordered security measures, the airport said in a statement.
CEO Gerlach Cerfontaine said the new flight tax introduced in July and spiraling kerosene costs would further hit the airport’s finances.
