Police get stun guns for year-long trial
The police are to be armed with stun guns from the end of this year for a 12 month trial period, reports Monday’s AD newspaper.
The weapons, also known by the brand name Tasers, cause temporary paralysis by emitting a 50,000 voltage electric shock.
Human rights group Amnesty International is against the stun guns saying that they have caused a number of deaths in the countries where they are in use.
