Olympics: Dutch win fifth judo medal

Henk Grol has become the fifth Dutch judoka to win a medal at the Beijing Olympics. The 23-year-old Veendammer won a bronze medal in the under 100kg category on Thursday.

But Grol is not happy with the result. ‘I am an idiot. I was in a really good position in the semi-positions but I still carried on attacking, taking a risk. And I was punished for that,’ he is quoted as saying on the official website of the Dutch Olympic organisation.
Three other judokas have won bronze at these Games: Ruben Houkes, Elisabeth Willeboordse and Edith Bosch. Deborah Gravenstijn won silver.
