Formal social security benefits will be scrapped for the under-27s if a plan by junior social security minister Ahmed Aboutaleb gets a parliamentary majority, reports the AD.

Instead, jobless under-27s will get income support while undergoing compulsory retraining. Those who refuse, will get nothing.
Some 25,000 people aged under 27 are claiming welfare benefits, the AD says.
