A majority of MPs have urged the cabinet to take steps to stop foreign private equity companies benefiting from huge tax rebates, the Volkskrant reports on Friday.

Earlier this week the paper calculated that buy-out firms had received some €400m in tax rebates last year because the Dutch firms they had taken over made a loss on paper.
The losses were generated because the takeovers were made with borrowed cash.
