KLM stops last domestic service

KLM is to scrap its flights between Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport and the airport at Maastricht, the Dutch national carrier announced on Friday. This means KLM will no longer operate any internal flights.

KLM has been flying to Maastricht since 1966.
A spokeswoman for Air France-KLM said short flights are not part of the company’s strategy. ‘They are not profitable with the current high level of fuel and worsening economic climate,’ ANP news service quotes her as saying.
