Gullit quits star US football job
Veteran Dutch footballer Ruud Gullit (45) announced yesterday that he is stepping down as trainer of LA Galaxy with immediate effect.
LA Galaxy has failed to win any of its seven matches since Gullit joined the US club in November last year.
‘To be honest it was much harder for my family to settle here than I had expected,’ Gullit told reporters.
Monday’s move is Gullit’s fourth premature departure – his current contract runs until 2010. Before LA Galaxy he was trainer at English clubs Chelsea and Newcastle United, and at Rotterdam’s Feyenoord.
