Financial services group Fortis is holding an information evening for shareholders on Monday, to answer questions surrounding recent events at the company.

In particular, shareholders are unhappy at the surprise announcement earlier this year of an €8bn balance sheet strengthening exercise, which led to the resignation of CEO Jean-Paul Votron.
Shareholders lobby group VEB has called on Fortis to improve its communications with investors and has drawn up its own plan to restore confidence in the company.
