Deal reached on Wegener job losses
The threat of a strike at regional newspaper group Wegener has receded after unions and the company reached a deal on compulsory job losses among journalists.
In total, the company wants to cut 400 jobs. The deal with journalists involves setting minimum levels for editorial departments, more money for training and more independence for the regional papers.
