Crime boss fit enough to attend appeal
Willem Holleeder, the country’s most notorious crime boss, is fit enough to attend his appeal hearing in Rotterdam at the end of August, says his lawyer Jan-Hein Kuijpers in Tuesday’s Trouw.
Holleeder was sentenced to nine years in prison for blackmail last year. His trial had to be suspended for several months when he developed serious heart trouble.
Holleeder is internationally-known for kidnapping beer magnate Freddie Heineken in 983.
