Court bans Transavia pilots from striking

Transavia pilots have been banned from going on strike by a court in Haarlem and ordered back to the negotiating table, the Volkskrant reports on Tuesday.

‘The passengers have won,’ Rene de Groot, chairman of the pilots’ union VNV told the paper before extending a hand to Transavia director Onno van den Brink. ‘I am extremely disappointed.’
The dispute centres on a basic salary increase of half a percentage point. Compromises had already been worked out on overnight stays after long-distance flights, the paper says.
Mediators will now be brought in to try to solve the dispute. The strike had been planned for Tuesday.
