U-turn at ABN Amro over IT outsourcing
Royal Bank of Scotland is to stop the large-scale outsourcing of IT services at ABN Amro, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Tuesday.
The Scottish bank says that information technology is too important to contract out, the paper says.
Fortis is also considering bringing IT staff back in house, a spokesman for the Belgian-Dutch financial services house told the paper.
ABN Amro began outsourcing its IT services at the beginning of the decade, largely to US giant EDS.
