Train tickets set to rise 4%

Dutch Rail (NS) plans to put up the price of tickets by an average 4% from next year, the state-owned firm said on Wednesday.

Some 3.5% of the rise is due to inflation, the rest is due to higher charges from state-owned railway operator ProRail, the NS said. A final decision will be taken in September.
