Small bars must obey smoking ban

Small bars and cafés must comply with the smoking ban introduced on July 1, judges in The Hague said on Wednesday.

An alliance of small café owners had gone to court, arguing they were being unfairly affected by the ban which was introduced to protect staff. This was because they often had no personnel and no space for a separate smoking room, the alliance said.
