Shareholders paid €20bn in first half 2008
Companies listed on the Amsterdam stock market paid out a total of €20bn to their shareholders in the first half of the year, reports the national statistics office CBS on Monday.
Of this just over €12bn was paid out in dividends, while the remainder was used to buy back shares.
The amount represents 4% of the combined market value of the companies at the end of 2007, said the CBS.
