Older drivers cause more crashes

Drivers aged 75 and older cause 65% of the accidents they are involved in, according to traffic safety research body SWOV.

The under-30% are responsible for just under half the accidents they are involved in. In the Netherlands, drivers over the age of 70 have to undergo a medical check-up every five years.
