Karadzic extradition may be this weekend

Serbian war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic will be handed over to the Yugoslavia war crimes tribunal in The Hague this weekend or early next week, NOS tv reports on Wednesday, quoting Serbian justice ministry sources

Karadzic’ lawyer Sveta Vujacic wants to keep him in Belgrade as long as possible and will make a formal appeal against extradition on Friday, NOS says. The Serbian authorities then have three days to take a decision.
Dozens of journalists and camera crews are camped out at Scheveningen prison, where war crimes suspects are held, waiting for his arrival.
Karadzic plans to conduct his own defence. ‘Karadzic will have a legal team in Serbia that will help him with his defence but he will defend himself,’ the BBC reported Vujacic as saying.
