Inflation hits 2.6% in June

The inflation rate reached 2.6% in June, a 0.3% increase on the May figure, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.

The increase is largely due to fuel prices, which has also boosted plane ticket prices, the CBS said. The cost of flying is now up 20% on a year ago.
According to EU calculations, Dutch inflation is 2.3%, compared with a European average of 4%, news agency ANP reports.
