House buyers uninterested in energy label
Most house buyers do not believe that the recently introduced energy label on houses over 10 years old contributes to a reduction in energy consumption, according to a report published by the estate agents’ association VBO Makelaar on Thursday.
Only 38% of house buyers said they pay attention as to whether an energy label is available for the property they are interested in, says the report.
The aim of the label, which has been compulsory from January this year, is intended to indicate how energy efficient a house is.
Other estate agents’ groups have already dismissed the energy label system.
