Holiday helpline had 300,000 calls in July

Staff at the travel and motoring organisation ANWB’s alarm centre have been working overtime since the beginning of this month and have handled some 300,000 telephone calls from holiday-makers who have run into problems.

Most of these involve car breakdowns but they are also called for help with health problems, said the ANWB on Thursday. A spokesman told ANP news service that requests for help are up between 10% 15% this summer.
