The Netherlands will win 28 medals in the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing according to a forecast by the US magazine Sports Illustrated, reports ANP news agency on Thursday.
The magazine predicts Dutch sportsmen and women will take home seven gold, five silver and 16 bronze medals.
Cyclists Theo Bos and Marianne Vos, horsewoman Anky van Grunsven and the swimmers Pieter van den Hoogenband, Marleen Veldhuis and Inge Dekker are among those the magazine tips as winners, says ANP. And it forecasts a third place for the Dutch football team.
The Netherlands won 22 medals in the last Olympic Games in Athens in 2004.
A Dutch economic trade magazine recently predicted that the Netherlands will win 20 medals in China.
