Dutch surgeon operates on Ronaldo

Portugese football player Cristiano Ronaldo is undergoing an operation on his damaged ankle joint this morning in the Academic Medical Centre in Amsterdam, reports the AD.


The surgeon is Niek van Dijk, who has an international reputation as a knee and ankle specialist.
Ronaldo, who plays for Manchester United and the Portugese national team, has had ankle problems for several months but delayed the operation until after Euro 2008.
