Dutch students are stay-at-homes

Dutch students are more likely to stay at home than their European colleagues, according to research for the education ministry.

Fewer than 25% of Dutch students spend any time studying abroad and only 2.3% of all students opt for a foreign university, despite new rules to help with funding.
Of those who do go abroad, 65% head for Flemish-speaking Belgium.
Some 6.9% of the students at Dutch universities are foreign, slightly below the European average of 7.2%, the research shows.
