Demand for last-minute holidays in the sun is soaring because of the bad weather at home, the AD reports on Tuesday.

In particular, demand for holidays where the sun is guaranteed, such as Egypt, is up, Marjolijn Blok from Thomas Cook told the paper. And TUI Nederland reports double the normal number of requests for last minute offers.
But Dutch amusement parks and beach bars are having a bad summer so far. According to the beach bar association, there has only been one proper beach day so far this season.
