Batman film not fit for young teens
The new Batman film The Dark Knight has been given a 16+ certificate in the Netherlands, the highest age limit so far, the AD reports on Monday.
Despite the lack of blood ‘there are enough moments and images in the film which are very clearly not for a young audience,’ a spokesman for distributor Warner Bros told the paper. In the US and Britain, noted for their tough approach to screen violence, the film has a 13 and 12 certificate.
The film, which is breaking box office records in the US, hits Dutch cinema screens on Thursday.
