Wegener to cut 400 plus jobs

Regional newspaper publisher Wegener said on Thursday it is to scrap up to 465 jobs because of the ‘difficult market conditions’.

The aim of the job losses is to save between €32m and €37m a year. British company Mecom, which took over Wegener last year, wants to merge all its separate activities and operational services into a single company.
