Brabant meat producer Vion has bought the Scottish meat processing company Grampian Country Food Group, giving it an additional €2.5bn in turnover, says Tuesday’s Financieele Dagblad.

Vion will not comment on the price paid because the takeover is currently being considered by the EU competition commission. But the Financieele Dagblad says the word on the market is a sale price of £350m to £400m.
