So far, 22 soldiers seriously hurt in Uruzgan
In total, 22 Dutch soldiers have been so seriously injured in Afghanistan that they have had to undergo long-term therapy to recover, the AD reports on Friday.
Most of those seriously injured have lost limbs, the paper says, quoting defence ministry figures. The explosion of roadside bombs is the main reason for the number of injuries, a military spokesman told the paper.
Sixteen Dutch soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan, either in action or in accidents.
