Schools hit by lead thieves

Thieves stealing lead and lightning conductors from school roofs cause tens of thousand of euros worth of damage a year, says insurance firm Achmea.

The theft is often only discovered after a leak or lightning strike, the company says. Some 180 schools are hit by such thefts every year.
