Reward for Rotterdam mayor
Rotterdam mayor Ivo Opstelten, who retires at the end of this year, has been awarded the local authorities Prijs der Gemeenten for his services to local government.
Opstelten was named mayor of Dalen at the age of 28 and has since held the same office in Doorn, Delfzijl and Utrecht before returning to his birthplace in 1999.
