Record term for European MP
Ria Oomen, a member of the European parliament for the Christian Democratic party, will be the Netherlands’ longest serving MEP ever if she gets elected again next year.
Oomen, 54, first went to Brussels in 1989. At the end of her next term, she will have been an MEP for 25 years.
